EAST BUTLER PUBLIC SCHOOLS - Nebraska School District

About School District: The East Butler School District was created May 29, 1961, through reorganization by the votes of residents of 17 rural and village districts including Loma, Brainard and Dwight. The original reorganized district operated three attendance centers which consisted of a K-8 grade school in Loma and Dwight and a K-12 center at Brainard. East Butler's first senior class of 15 girls and 12 boys was graduated in 1962. In 1969 the Dwight and Loma schools changed from K-8 centers to K-6 centers and all seventh and eighth grade students were moved to the Brainard school. In November of 1970 the Loma school was closed by the Board of Education and those students were moved to the Brainard building.
