About School District: The Houston Heights Learning Academy, located in the Houston Heights community, is a small inner city school that is 58% Hispanic, 38% African American, 2% White and 2% other. The majority of our students live within this neighborhood. The students are rich in culture and heritage. While ninety percent of our students are at risk because of their low socio-economic status, some students come from several miles away to attend HHLA. Our staff is committed to providing a quality education to all students. The school climate is nurturing and friendly. Mission Statement: The Houston Heights Learning Academy, Inc. will provide a high quality education for a community of learners from diverse socio-economic, racial and ethnic backgrounds.
